Put some water into the pill bottle and dip the reed in all the way for about 10 seconds. (Use an empty one...)
Put the reed on the clarinet once you wipe off the excess water. Play on the reed.
These you’ll be able to play on right away because they won’t last.
These you can work with. Once you test them put them in order of hardness. Come back the next day. Reeds change DRASTICALLY from day to day.
Take your sandpaper and sand the reed gently on the sandpaper lying on a flat surface. Place 3 fingers on the read and follow the grain. Forward and Backward about 4 times.
Wipe the dust off and check the wobble of the reed by pressing on the left and right. If it’s still wobbly, sand 4 times more.
a. Play again, repeat above if the reed is still not flat.
b. If it’s flat and it still plays stuffy, cut a small rectangle of
sandpaper that you can wrap around the tip of your index
